It's a great addition to a resume! In addition to providing students with hands-on experience and a developed sense of the Psychology discipline on a global scale, international internships can significantly improve prospects for employment and graduate school applications. With 2010 just around the corner, AIDE is accepting applications for the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.
Clinical Internships in Ireland or Australia: Interns will receive observed experience in psychological assessments designed to detect mental health problems as well as provide counsel for treatment. Supervision is provided for diagnosis, treatment strategy, case management, and rehabilitation issues with patients suffering from diverse disorders. In addition to honing clinical skills, these internship programs aim to develop the intern’s professional identity.

Developmental Psychology in Costa Rica or Peru: Psychology interns will work in a home for young mothers and their children. These girls have been sexually abused and/or exploited, come from extreme poverty, and are at high social risk. The mission of these projects is to break the intergenerational cycle of abuse and sexual exploitation of children by providing resources and the therapeutic attention necessary for the reintegration into society.
Application Deadline: Depending on the program you are applying for, we recommend that you apply two to three months in advance.
Application Process: Fill out and submit your application
Placement Process: After we receive your application, we will contact you to schedule a telephone interview and orientation session.
